Last years Pride event in Campbell park sought to be a different type of Pride event and we achieved it !! We had lots of families attend in the day time, with many young children going to their first Pride and friendships made during the evening with wonderful acts on stage. The love in the tent was EPIC!
Milton Keynes Pride festival will again look to holding the event in a similar fashion this year. All of the businesses or providers are either LGBTQ+ run or have established, structured support for their LGBTQ+ staff or customers. This supports companies and services that work for and support the community all year round not just for June or Pride events.
It is still important to Milton Keynes Pride Festival to try and promote how much the wonderful LGBTQ+ community bring to Milton Keynes and build positive social cohesion, with education and promotion.
The event is a not for profit event and any money that is raised will go to services for the LGBTQ+ Community in MK and surrounding areas also, towards next years event. There were soo many of you last year approx 10,000 we will increase site but still work on it feeling like a real community event. So please come with your smiles, glitter, fur babies, families, friends and know that we want you to enjoy the day and embrace the wonderful diverse community that is the LGBTQ+ community
Milton Keynes Pride Festival and sponsors wish everyone a safe, happy, proud, Pride.
This event is a drug free event, NO forms of drugs or legal highs are permittable at any time (this includes poppers) All bags and persons will be checked upon arrival and any items confiscated. Whilst we want people to enjoy their day anyone who is intoxicated and unable to manage themselves will either be refused entry or asked to leave if they are already in the event.
To try and allow everyone to attend and enjoy their day in a way that is relative to them the event is structured in a particular way. 12 – 6pm is arranged to be family friendly therefore there are dress restrictions in place, from 6 pm the event is geared for adults and there are less restrictions.
Milton Keynes Pride Festival is proud to say due to the amazing support from our sponsors we are able to make the event completely FREE OF CHARGE!
Please note all attendees will be searched on entry to the site for the safety of the event, staff, volunteers and attendees. We want to have a safe enjoyable day that is fun for everyone!
There is just one entrance into the event for the general public. Disabled entrance will be provided separately for ease of access.
No Under 18's are permitted without an adult after 6pm.

The Milton Keynes Pride Festival team have worked with disability groups to try and make this event as accessible as possible. What we have done:
There is a disabled persons entrance that allows cars to enter, the team have liaised with local wheelchair suitable taxi companies in MK and they are making sure they have plenty of staff for the day.
There are more accessible toilets placed near this entrance, we have a mobiloo with a hoist and larger ones to accommodate a chair. All of the site is accessible on flat ground but if it rains before the event please note it is grass.
There will be wheelchair charging points in the tent which is near the allocated entrance. There will also be a rest space for guide dogs with water available as it will be a busy day and we understand both owner and dog may need a break.
There will be a space that is quieter for anyone who has sensory needs, we plan to put some nice lighting, soft music and some soft places to sit. Is anyone is feeling anxious or worried they can either have some time in here or find a volunteer who can direct you to some support.
The group has taken advice from Access Ambassadors regarding supporting people from the deaf or hard of hearing community. There will be a stall on the day where anyone attending that needs support can meet a BSL support worker who will walk around the event with them. Please note that these will be volunteers so be patient if no one is available.
The team are working on how to make the performances accessible, there will be a viewing platform for anyone with either mobility, visual or auditory needs, we are working on either a BSL signer for performance or text on a screen.
we will have some information sheets about the event available in Braile..
